Port of entry requirements - To enter Senegal, you do not need a visa if you hold a passport from the    European Union or the United States. However, you must make sure that your passport has not expired.

   Vaccins - The Yellow Fever vaccin is imperative; vaccin against Hepatitis A and B are highhly recommended;   and a Malaria prevention treatment is advised. So, update your health booklet and be ready to show it to   airport authorities upon your arrival.

  Climate - Senegal is a tropical country but all the coastal zones enjoy a fair weather tempered by the sea  breeze. Thus, even the pretty hot months of August and September are bearable because the air is dry. In all events, bring at least 1 liter of water per hour of walk or when strolling in the savanna.

Currency and exchange - Senegal is in the "CFA zone". The CFA franc has a fixed parity with the Euro (1 000 FCFA = 1.524 euro, 1 euro = 655.957 F.CFA). You will be able to withdraw money in most banks, including the SGBS in Saly (a subsidiary of the french Société Générale) which has a 24h ATM, using Euro checks and bank cards (Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard). Some shops even welcome Cartes Bleues and euro checks. Western Union and MoneyGram have an office in Saly for your money transfer needs.

Clinics and medical emergencies - Saly offers medical services for home consultations, emergency services and transfers (SOS Médecin, SUMA, Sahélienne d’hélicoptère). If you are from an EC country other than France, find out whether your local health authority will refund medical expenses committed in Senegal, as France does.

House deliveries - Diatta (baguettes, croissants, etc.), Diop (fresh fish), Ibrahima (lobsters, gambas), Norbert (oysters), fruit and vegetable merchants, and other vendors licensed by Safari-Village, will come by the villa to propose their produce which they can deliver everyday at the villa, if you wish.

Groceries shopping - The Villa Zehliana is at a 10 mns walking distance from Supermarket Casino, Saly's largest grocery store which offers just about everything (incl. wine, catering/deli food, meat shop, etc.) at reasonable prices and which also welcomes major bank cards. Casino will also deliver to the villa for a fee.
